Dr. Joe Bocchi, Professional Writing Expert at Excelsior College. Dr. Joe Bocchi has worked in higher education for 30 years. He is a former executive director of the Georgia WebMBA – an online degree offered by a consortium of six colleges in the University System of Georgia. A native of Hudson Falls, N.Y., he has taught business communication at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and has led curriculum and course development in a range of writing courses.

Dr. Bocchi’s research has appeared in the Journal of Business and Technical Communication, IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication, Journal of Education for Business, American Journal of Business Education, and the International Journal of Management in Education.

Bocchi has held corporate positions in marketing and human resource development at national companies headquartered in Atlanta. An award-winning short-story writer, he earned his Master of Arts and Doctor of Arts from the University at Albany. He has extensive experience training on-the-job writers in government and business settings. In 2011 he was named by as among the top 50 experts and influencers in the higher education online learning sector.
